Historical Data
Twitter doesn't have an API where we can obtain historical data. So we go out and grab it automatically on a daily basis for you starting from the day you add the widget and store it in Cyfe. In the example below, the Twitter widget was added on June 2nd:
Connection Reset
If your not seeing new data rolling in, Twitter has expired your third party connection. Twitter automatically expires third party connections every 60 days or so - there's no way to stop this.
In addition, if you reset your Twitter password, you'll need to reconnect your Twitter Widget. To refresh your connection or reconnect your Twitter Widget:
- Reconfigure your existing Twitter widget by clicking on the gear icon located at the top right corner of the widget.
- Click on the Twitter Account drop down and select the first empty entry in the list. Then click on the Add Account button located next to this drop down list.
- A new popup will open where Twitter will ask you to confirm the connection. Click on the Accept button.
- The popup will automatically close and you will be back on the widget configuration screen in Cyfe. Now click on the Save Widget button.
You should only have to do this for one widget.
Twitter Search
After connecting your account, you can utilize Twitter Search within Cyfe to search for specific Tweets, accounts, or ongoing conversations. You can use any Twitter Search Operators within the Widget:

Common Questions
Why Don't I see My Twitter Impressions Data?
At this time this is not a metric that Twitter provides third parties. As soon as they allow this, we'll bring it in to Cyfe! In the meantime, you can manually add in your Impressions data from your Twitter insights through our Custom widgets!
What is the Influencer Metric?
We use the Klout score of all your Twitter followers to determine who your influencers are. These are basically your "hottest" or "most influential" followers.
You should only have to do this for one widget.
I Experience Constant Loading with the Twitter Ads Overview Metric
For certain Advertiser accounts, the Overview metric can be problematic. In order to retrieve that data, it must be requested in batches.
If you're experiencing trouble with the Overview account, we recommend single Metrics instead.
How Much History Can I Grab With Twitter Search?
Twitter allows the past 2 weeks of results for its search function. Thus, any tweets that are older than the past 2 weeks will not display in this search.
Why Don't I See Any Results in my Twitter Search Widget?
Make sure:
- the search you set up is structured properly, and,
- that the results are expected to be within the past two weeks -- see below for a guide to search operators.
Can I Export the Results Of My Twitter Search Results in CSV form?
At this time no, but it would work in image-based (PDF, PNG, and JPEG) exports.
How Do I Set Up Complex Searches and Filters?
Take advantage of the AND and OR parameters!
For example, the following search is looking for English-language tweets that mention the word "lunch" and were sent within a 1 kilometer radius of the following latitude and longitude.
"lunch" AND geocode:"51.5171009,-0.0939182,1km" AND lang:en
